A Comdata card is a card that is issued by your company to you, the employee, for the use of making purchases for the company like office supplies or gasoline. It can also be used to hold your payroll funds. The Comdata card allows a company to keep payroll and expense information in a database and allows the employer to control prepaid employee spending limits, depending on the situation. You can use your Comdata card with the use of a personal identification number (PIN), or by making purchases with an approved vendor, for example, one that accepts MasterCard.

Step 1

Call the number on the back of the Comdata card and enter the entire card number on the front of the card when you are prompted to do so. Enter any identification information such as your PIN number or the last four digits of your Social Security number when prompted. Listen for your available balance.

Step 2

Insert your Comdata card into an approved ATM machine and enter your PIN number. Withdraw the desired amount of cash from your account. Approved ATM access is noted by the ATMs that have symbols matching those on the back of the Comdata card.

Step 3

Swipe your Comdata card at any register where you can pay with a debit or credit card. Always choose "Credit" when you are prompted to do so and sign for your purchase.
