Whether you are looking for information about how to dispute an inaccurate credit report or seek to request a copy of your credit file, you may contact the three major credit bureaus by phone. There are several numbers for the big three credit bureaus, Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, depending on the information you are seeking.

Step 1

Contact TransUnion for a copy of your credit report by calling 1-877-322-8228. Dispute an item on your credit report or place a fraud alert on your report by calling 1-800-916-8800.

Step 2

Access Equifax's automated call center by calling 1-800-685-1111. Follow the prompts to request a copy of your credit report. Call 1-888-766-0008 to place a fraud alert on your credit report. To dispute an item on your credit report, you must order a copy of the report and call the number on the report for disputes.

Step 3

Request a copy of your annual credit report via Experian or place a fraud alert on your report by calling 1-888-397-3742. To dispute an item on your credit report, you must order a copy of the report and call the number on the report for disputes.
