HSBC offers a suite of financial products to customers, including savings and checking accounts, credit cards and loans. HSBC sponsors three credit cards that give points to users: the HSBC Platinum MasterCard, HSBC Advance MasterCard and HSBC Premier World MasterCard.

Types of Rewards Cards

The HSBC Platinum MasterCard earns one point for every dollar spent. When using the HSBC Advance MasterCard, you earn two points for every dollar spent on dining and entertaining purchases. All other purchases earn one point. With the HSBC Premier World MasterCard, you earn one point for every dollar spent. All three cards have no limit to the number of points you can earn and points do not expire.

Reward Options

There are two redemption options for the HSBC Platinum MasterCard. You can either redeem the points for 1 percent cash back or choose from gift cards, merchandise or flights. Rewards for the HSBC Advance MasterCard include music, movies, game downloads, electronics, merchandise and cash back. HSBC Premier World MasterCard reward options include vacation packages, flights and cash back.

Redeeming Points

To redeem points on all three cards, you can sign up for a HSBC Personal Internet Banking account on the HSBC website. Once signed up, log into your account to access the reward catalog for that card, choose your reward and checkout using your points. If you do not have an online account, you can redeem points by calling HSBC Customer Care at 1-888-385-8916.
