It is no longer necessary to visit banks or money agents to transfer money to another person. Now you can sit at home and send money to any part of the world simply by using your computer and debit card. Companies like Money Bookers, Paypal and Alert Pay specialize in sending money through credit and debit cards. As you confirm the transaction, the company deducts the specified amount from your debit card and sends the funds to the recipient’s email address, after which the recipient can deposit the money to a bank account.
Open the website of the company through which you want to send money. You can find links to some companies in the Resources section below.
Find out how much the company will charge you for sending a specific amount. You may calculate the fees by using the “Fee Estimator” tool on the company’s website.
Click on “Sign Up.”
Provide all of your personal and debit card information. This is necessary for registering.
Click on “Send Money” on the home page once you’re registered.
Enter the recipient’s email address in the “To” field.
Specify the amount of money that you want to send.
Confirm that you want to send the money. The recipient will then receive the funds in an email account affiliated with the company (Money Bookers, Paypal or Alert Pay). If not registered yet, a notification from the company will guide the recipient on how to set up a free account to deposit the funds in a bank account.
Direct the recipient to log on to the email account, if already registered with the company, using his email address and password. If the recipient hasn't provided bank account information yet, a prompt will ask for such details as bank name and account number. This information is only required for the first time. After providing all necessary information, the funds will be transferred to the recipient's bank account.
