If you get food benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, in Texas, you can check your available balance each time you use your Lone Star Card at the grocery store. As of April 2015, there was no option to do the check online..

Receipt Check

An updated balance is always on the receipt for any Lone Star Card purchase. Should you miss that, call the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, or HHSC, at 800-777-7328.
