These Three Shopping Apps Will Save You a Bunch of Money

Last minute shoppers: It’s not too late! You can still shop, save, and not get taken advantage by stores who are trying to prey on your kind. I’m a crazy person when it comes to shopping and I will never, ever buy something if it doesn’t feel like a deal to me. Because of that and to your benefit, I have scoured the internet for apps and browser plugins to help you save money this holiday season. Here are the three best to help you get through the holiday season without going broke AF!

1. Honey

Honey has changed my life. The Honey extension (which is free for Chrome and Firefox), shows you all available coupons when shopping online at over a thousand stores. When you make your way to the checkout page while shopping, click on your Honey plugin and they will scour their database for any and all coupon codes submitted by users. I would say 90% of the time, it has worked for me. They also keep their coupon database up-to-date with new offers ensuring you’ll have access to all available coupon codes. Another awesome bonus is that Honey will scour Amazon and let you know when you’ve found the “Best Deal.” It doesn’t get much better than that!

2. Cartwheel

Anyone else go to Target for deodorant and walk out with a cart full of basically the entire store? You will never pay full price at Target again with The Cartwheel app. Free on the app store, Cartwheel offers deals and coupons on select items at Target. There are hundreds of items on the app from 5% to 50% off and it rotates each week. After my husband and I fill our cart with Target essentials (and nonessentials, let’s be real), we steer over to a corner of the store and “Cartwheel” every single thing in our cart. We’ve saved over $300 this year.

3. Santa’s Bag

If you’re a crazy budgeter, this is the app that will save your life this holiday season. Santa’s Bag has so many amazing features I am not even sure where to begin. First off, there’s a to-the-second countdown to Christmas which is actually kind of horrifying, but will keep you in check. You can plan all your gift ideas, wish lists and preferences for each of your recipients plus save images and notes for your gifts and recipients. Usually, I make a boring spreadsheet but this does that for you! The main beauty of this app is that you can set and and track progress against budgets for individual recipients and for the occasion as a whole to make sure that you stay on track with your spending.
