Reporting Disability Fraud in NYS is an easy process.

Providing false information to obtain disability money is fraud and is considered a felony in New York State. Disability fraud in NYS -- or anywhere -- is very difficult to spot and prove. Many disabilities are not visible to other people. Chronic pain, dizziness, fatigue and mental illness is only a small list of invisible disabilities. New York State has developed a special department to investigate reports of disability fraud and prosecute the people who are found guilty. NYS has made it easy to report suspected disability fraud.

Step 1

Report the disability fraud by phone by calling (800) 269-0271. This is the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance's Division of Disability Determinations. Provide the information you have about the alleged disability fraud. Giving your name is requested but not mandatory.

Step 2

Report disability fraud via U.S. Mail. Sending your information to: New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance Program Integrity Riverview Center 4th Floor 40 North Pearl Street, Albany, NY 12243

Step 3

Report the information by email to the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, Division of Disability Determination at [email protected]. This can be done anonymously.
