Although the reasons for checking a PayPal account most often relate to verifying and reviewing deposits and transactions in your own account, you can also verify the validity of another person's account. However, regardless of your intent, the first step is to log in using your e-mail address and password.

Check Recent Activity

Once you log in, the first page that opens is your summary page. Here you can check your current balance, view recent transactions and click on a specific transaction to get more details. Information about bank accounts and credit cards associated with your account lies on the left side of the page. Clicking on "Wallet" creates a narrower focus on just your bank accounts and credit cards, and shows you the amount of money available in your PayPal balance. Notifications from PayPal may be accessed by clicking on the bell icon in the top right-hand corner. Click on the gear wheel icon to review or make updates to your account profile.

Check Account History

Click "Activity" in the top navigation bar to check historic transactions. In this section, filtering options allow you to view transactions within a specific date range. Click the "Statements" link within this window to check current and past account statements as well as past tax documents.
