How to Check If You Are On ChexSystems

ChexSystems is a agency that reports on consumer credit and verifies checks. A large percentage of banks use the information provided by ChexSystems to determine your eligibility for a new account with their institution. If you have had an overdraft or fraudulent deposit in the past five years, it is likely that information is on your ChexSystems report. This information may prevent you from opening an account at a new bank. If a bank has denied opening an account for you, you can obtain a consumer report from ChexSystems that will help clarify the reason you may have been denied.
