How to Sign a Check Over to Someone Else

FIND SOMEONE WHO IS WILLING TO HAVE THE CHECK SIGNED OVER TO THEM.

This should be someone that has a bank in the local area where you are trying to cash the check, has the time to go to the bank with you to complete the signing over of the check, and has enough money in the bank to cover the check (in case it bounces).

GET ASSURANCE FROM A BANK THAT THEY CAN HANDLE THE SIGNING OVER TRANSACTION .

Perhaps call the bank first. This is to make sure you don't waste your time going to the bank if they are unable to handle the check endorsement transaction.

COMPLETE THE SIGNING OVER OF THE CHECK AT THE BANK.

On the back of the check, sign your name on the line that you would normally sign on. Under your signature, print, "Pay to the order of" followed by the person's name. Next, have the other person sign underneath this printed line.
