Texas Christian University has an award-winning cheerleading program as of October 2011. The program is made up of 12 to 16 female squad members and four to six co-ed couples. As a member of the TCU cheerleading team, you may be eligible for scholarship funding to help offset the cost of college. Apply for awards through the school's athletic department along with contacting private organizations.

Blair G. Loving Memorial TCU Athletic Scholarship

This program was developed in honor of Blair G. Loving, a Texas Christian University alum with a passion for collegiate athletics. Events for the memorial fund are held throughout the year to help pay for the scholarship. The amount of the scholarship depends upon fundraising efforts annually. To be eligible, you must be enrolled in or plan to attend Texas Christian University. You must also be a student-athlete, like a TCU cheerleader, for consideration.

Gatorade Scholarships

The Quaker Oats Company sponsors two annual scholarships to Texas Christian University students involved in athletic training and who obtain a high grade-point average. Involvement in athletics like cheerleading is also required. The student who applies with the highest cumulative GPA receives a $2,500 scholarship as of October 2011, while the student with the highest semester GPA earns $1,500. The same student is not eligible for both awards.

Davis Law Group Scholar Athlete Program

You're eligible to apply for this scholarship if you are a cheerleader currently enrolled in college and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Each week, a prize of $100 is given out to student athletes, including cheerleaders, along with an annual award of $1,000 to the athlete of the year. Student cheerleaders at TCU can be nominated by their coaches, administrators, professors, teammates or parents.
