How to Create a Spa Day for Teenage Girls on a Budget

A do-it-yourself spa day allows for the same pampering treatments available at a professional spa without the high price tag. A teen spa day is an option as a reward or for a party for a teen who loves pampering. Many items you already have around the house double as relaxing spa treatments. Teens are old enough to prepare the spa treatments themselves if they prefer. Many inexpensive spa supplies, like toe separators, nail products and lotions, are available at discount stores, saving you additional money.

Step 1

Invite the teen guests to bring along their own robes and towels. If you plan to do makeup and nails, invite them to bring their favorite nail polish colors and cosmetics so you aren't responsible for purchasing these items.

Step 2

Light candles and place them around the room in locations where the teens aren't likely to bump them. To eliminate the fire risk, string white holiday lights in the room and turn down the overhead lights for a relaxing spa tone. Place flowers in vases around the room (pick the flowers from your own garden if you have one).

Step 3

Fill shallow bowls or pans with warm water and a few flower petals for soaking feet. This allows each guest to have her own foot-soaking container without the need for lots of expensive foot massaging tubs.

Step 4

Slice lemons for the teens to use to smooth out rough skin. Let the guests rub the cut side of the lemons on their knees, elbows and other rough skin patches.

Step 5

Heat water to steaming to create a facial steam area. Pour the steaming water in a metal bowl or similar container. Have the guests hold their faces over the bowl with a towel covering their heads to trap the steam inside.

Step 6

Blend a facial mask concoction using cold cream, yogurt, honey, olive oil, avocado and banana. Let the teens apply the mixture as a facial mask.

Step 7

Slice a cucumber for the teens to place over their eyes while the facial mask dries.

Step 8

Encourage the teens to pair up to apply nail polish and makeup. Avoid sharing makeup, especially eye products.
